Lisa Cannon is a popular presenter and a constant fixture on Irish television screens for over fifteen years. In September 2018, Lisa won Best Female TV Presenter in the IARA Awards.
Irish viewers watched her most recently on ‘Box Office’ which she has hosted and produced for the past 4 years on Virgin Media Television (formerly TV3). Not only does Box Office reflect Lisa’s lifelong love and knowledge of film but it also serves as Ireland’s only dedicated movie show.
For ten years, viewers tuned in to TV3’s daily entertainment show ‘Xpose’ to watch Lisa co-anchor the show, interview the world’s leading celebrities and report from red carpets across the globe. Lisa anchored island’s iconic, flagship live breakfast show Ireland AM on Virgin Media Television.
Prior to television, she presented on Irish radio for five years. She was co-host on Q102’s ‘The Big Saturday Show’ and was a regular segment contributor on FM104’s ‘Breakfast Show’ as Colm and Jim Jim’s roving interviewer and reporter.
Over the years, she has presented on RTE’s prime time show ‘Nationwide’, City Channel’s ‘Better Health’ and ‘On The Box’. She also presented on ‘The Early Show’, a CBS television program broadcast to over 3 million US viewers, demonstrating her diversity and experience in interviewing styles on both radio and television.
Lisa has interviewed the world’s most influential and popular celebrities which reads like a Who’s Who of Hollywood. Celebrities she has interviewed include Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Spielberg, Angelina Jolie, Sir. Paul McCartney, Kate Winslet, The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, Mariah, Celine Dion, Kylie, Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Daniel Craig, Will Smith, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and Kim Kardashian, to name just a few! A regular on the red-carpet, she has interviewed international stars for events like the Oscars, Cannes Film Festival, The Golden Globes, Tribeca, The IFTA’s, Edinburgh Film Festivals and The BAFTA’s.
A Trinity College Graduate with a B.A. in Drama and Theatre Studies from the Samuel Beckett Centre and a Master’s Degree in Film Production, Lisa has always maintained her interest in production and has trained on film and television sets in Ireland on ‘King Arthur’, ‘In America’ and ‘Bachelors Walk’, and in the U.S.A. on HBO’s ‘Sex and the City’.
Among other notable works Lisa has co-produced the acclaimed, controversial documentary ‘I shot John Lennon’ for Channel 4 and NBC and also developed, produced and starred in ‘From Presenter to Powerlifter’, a documentary broadcast on TV3 charting her eight-week journey to take part in the powerlifting championships.
Lisa is also a talented and astute writer. She was Editor for the ‘Irish Wedding Diary’ for eleven years.
A popular celebrity with a strong online presence, Lisa works with various brands on collaborations and ambassadorships. In 2017, she was invited to become Ireland’s first Weight Watchers Ambassador. VHI and Meadows & Byrne are just a couple of brands she has collaborated with, leveraging her online influence across her social media platforms.
