The Style Edit has teamed up with TV presenter Lisa Cannon to host an online entertainment show.

The Edit, sponsored by GLAM DOLL, will focus on the arts, culture, movies, music and showbiz and will shine a spotlight on those behind the camera as well as those in front of it.

Founder of The Style Edit, Jenny Taggart and Virgin Media and RTE presenter, Lisa came up with the idea for the concept of the show last year but it was lockdown that allowed the wheels to really get put in motion.

Jenny explained: “I approached Lisa about a year ago to devise and executive-produce a show that might represent the different elements of The Style Edit and work for our platform. Lisa loved the idea but at that stage was really busy with Virgin Media’s Box Office and other commitments so we put it on hold.

“Then the events of 2020 and lockdown happened and finally we had the time we needed. We put our heads together and came up with The Edit – a show combining Lisa’s love of movies and flair for all things showbiz and TSE’s ethos of supporting and nurturing new creative talent.”

The half hour show launches on Friday, December 4 and will run until the end of January. Confirmed guests include Derry Girls’ star, Saoirse Monica Jackson and Normal People casting director, Louise Kiely, with more big names to be announced.

Former Xpose presenter, Lisa said: “With the crisis the arts is facing at the minute this seemed like the perfect time to celebrate the talent that’s right on our doorstep and hopefully give people a bit of  much needed escapism.”

“Gordon Hayden is producing it alongside me and we’ll be speaking to people from across the globe and delving into some of the top new TV shows. As well as A-listers we’ve also got brilliant and bright new talent and some quirky ventures that we think are going to be big. We wanted a big, eclectic melting pot and I think that’s what we’ve got.

“It’s super accessible and something people can dip into when they’re out and about, travelling into work or on their lunch break.

“It’s not just an entertainment show though, we’re also hoping it’s going to give people a lift, inspire them and also invoke a strong sense of interest.

“2020 is a year we’ll never forget but hopefully this injects a bit of fun and positivity.”
